Report: Rockets strongly interested in Thibodeau, Brooks

Similar to reports surrounding the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Houston Rockets are interested in the two biggest names on the head coaching market - Tom Thibodeau and Scott Brooks - according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

Rockets owner Leslie Alexander has already said that interim coach J.B. Bickerstaff will be reviewed after the season, but reaching the playoffs - something Houston could do with a win on the final night of the regular season Wednesday - could help Bickerstaff's case, reports Stein.

It's been a tremendously disappointing campaign for the Rockets, a 56-win team and Western Conference finalists a year ago.

Both Thibodeau and Brooks have connections to Houston. Thibodeau was an assistant under former Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy from 2004-07, while Brooks played for the team from 1992-95, winning an NBA title in 1994.

Beyond Bickerstaff, reports surfaced over the weekend that Rockets management in general would be reviewed thoroughly, including GM Daryl Morey. The team is not expected to re-sign center Dwight Howard if he opts out of his contract this summer as anticipated.
