Jackson says Knicks haven't offered head coaching job to anyone
New York Knicks president Phil Jackson is shooting down rumors that the team has offered anyone its head coaching position.
It was reported Sunday that Golden State Warriors assistant coach Luke Walton informed Jackson that he's not currently interested in the Knicks' head coaching position.
Walton and Jackson were said to have spoken about potentially working together in New York, but Walton would apparently prefer to remain with the Warriors.
The Knicks are evaluating candidates following the firing of Derek Fisher in February. Interim head coach Kurt Rambis is among the hopefuls and is said to be a favorite of Jackson's, while Tom Thibodeau is reportedly the desired coach of Knicks star Carmelo Anthony.
Jackson has yet to give a timetable for when a new coach will be hired, and has said the search could stretch into the summer.
