Carroll starts Game 2 for Raptors, Powell to bench

Toronto Raptors coach Dwane Casey told media earlier Monday that he may change his starting lineup for Game 2 against the Indiana Pacers, and that's what he did, as DeMarre Carroll got the start at small forward with rookie guard Norman Powell moving to the bench.

The move comes in an attempt to jump start a Raptors squad that lost their seventh straight postseason game in Saturday's Game 1. Casey, frequently criticized for a perceived inability to make in-game adjustments, will start Carroll - sidelined most of the season with a knee injury - at the three with DeMar DeRozan sliding back to two-guard where Powell had started the team's last 17 games.

Carroll, whose bread and butter is perimeter defense even if he is not playing at 100 percent, will see time checking Paul George, who torched the Raptors for 33 points in Indiana's Game 1 victory. Carroll played 19 minutes in that contest.
