Power forward David Lee will miss at least the first two contests in the Dallas Mavericks' first-round matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a torn plantar fascia in his right heel.
Lee has been a pleasant surprise since signing with the Mavericks in February. The 32-year-old is averaging 8.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists on 63.6 percent shooting in 25 games with Dallas.
The loss of Lee could mean 24-year-old big man Dwight Powell will see extended minutes. The Stanford product didn't score in his two previous playoff games.
Dallas has just a 7 percent chance of winning the series, according to ESPN's BPI.
