Curry expects to play in Game 2
The Golden State Warriors may well be able to beat the Houston Rockets without Steph Curry, but the prohibitive MVP favorite would rather not find out.
Curry tweaked his right ankle on an awkward landing in the Warriors' Game 1 rout Saturday, and sat out the majority of the second half as a precaution. He's currently listed as questionable on the team's injury report, but expects to suit up for Game 2 on Monday.
"Right now I don't see a scenario where I'll be out," Curry said Sunday, according to CBS Sports. "Obviously, if it's not right and at risk of further injury or whatnot, that's the only thing that I think we have to worry about. Pain tolerance and all that stuff, I kind of know what I can deal with on the court, but you don't want anything more serious to happen favoring an ankle or whatnot. So that's what we'll pay attention to the next few days."
Curry didn't practice with the Warriors on Sunday, instead resting and undergoing additional treatment on the ankle that's given him trouble throughout his career.
Despite the injury limiting him to just 20 minutes Saturday, Curry registered a game-high 24 points (shooting 8-of-13 from the field and 5-of-7 from deep) and plus-28 rating.
