Brandon Bass is reportedly adding his name into this summer's free-agent crop.

The Los Angeles Lakers forward plans to decline his 2016-17 player option and become an unrestricted free agent, according to Chris Haynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Bass signed a multi-year deal with the Lakers last July, with his option valued at $3.1 million.

The 30-year-old made all 66 of his appearances off the bench this season, averaging 7.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 20.3 minutes per game. He shot a career-best 54.9 percent from the field.

Bass was shut down in early April by head coach Byron Scott to allow some of the Lakers' younger players to receive more playing time.
