Stanley Johnson: I'm definitely in LeBron's head
Stanley Johnson might be the most confident rookie in the history of basketball.
After telling off Kevin Durant in March, Johnson told reporters after getting wiped by 17 points in Game 2 that he's got his assignment, LeBron James, solved.
"I'm definitely in his head. That's for sure," Johnson said.
"He jabbers," Johnson continued. "He moves his mouth sometimes. Their whole team does, kind of like their little cheerleaders on the bench. Every time you walk in the right corner. They're always saying something like they're playing basketball, like they're actually in the game. There's only seven or eight players who play, I don't see why the other players are talking. They might as well just be in the stands, in my opinion."
For a 19-year-old, Johnson has definitely had his moments against the four-time NBA MVP. He bodied up James in the post and played him better than anyone else on the Pistons.
But James has also had his way in the series. He's averaging 24.5 points, six rebounds, and seven assists while shooting 60 percent from the field after taking both Game 1 and 2.
