Barnes: Grizzlies bringing 'forks, spoons, knives, the sharpening knife' to Game 3
Memphis Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes ripped his team's effort after the first two games of their Western Conference quarterfinal against the San Antonio Spurs, saying the Grizzlies were "coming to a gunfight with some spoons."
Barnes, though, says the team will be better equipped when they return home for Game 3 on Friday night.
"Forks, spoons, knives, the sharpening knife," Barnes said Thursday, when asked what the Grizzlies will be packing when they roll into FedEx Forum. "Whatever we got, can openers, bottle wine openers."
The Grizzlies are undermanned and the Spurs are a powerhouse firing on all cylinders - having won the first two games by a combined 58 points - so Memphis needs all the help it can get. Time will tell whether that eclectic mix of weaponry/kitchenware will do the trick.
