Warriors set record for most 3-pointers made in playoff game
The Golden State Warriors set the NBA record for most threes made in a playoff game on Sunday by hitting 21 treys in their emphatic Game 4 victory over the Houston Rockets.
The previous mark of 20 had been matched by four different teams since 1996 - most recently by the Cleveland Cavaliers, who tied it Wednesday.
Golden State also made 20 during last year's championship run, sharing the old record with the the 2011 Dallas Mavericks and the 1996 Seattle SuperSonics.
The Warriors managed to set the new mark without the services of Stephen Curry, who was forced to exit at halftime with a knee injury. Curry drained 402 threes in the regular season, but only sunk one on Sunday before leaving.
Klay Thompson led the way with seven makes from deep. Andre Iguodala chipped in with three off the bench and Draymond Green supplied four on six attempts to account for two-thirds of the damage.
The Warriors as a whole combined to hit 21-of-40 from beyond the arc.
The long-range barrage allowed the Warriors to take a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Rockets with a 121-94 shellacking.
