Charlotte Hornets assistant Patrick Ewing will interview for the Sacramento Kings head coaching job later this week, Hornets head coach Steve Clifford confirmed Sunday.
Ewing has served as an assistant coach for the past 12 seasons with the Houston Rockets, Orlando Magic, and Hornets.
Sacramento is reportedly considering Ewing for his potential to garner the respect of volatile big man DeMarcus Cousins - an issue many of the Kings' previous head coaches have failed to attain.
The Kings have reportedly already interviewed Sam Mitchell, Vinny Del Negro, Mike Woodson, and Nate McMillian for the job, with Kevin McHale still standing as the front-runner for the position.
