Watch: Trail Blazers, Lillard show love to bleeding Rivers
As decimated as the Los Angeles Clippers were for Game 6 of their first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, the remaining players left it all out on the floor in an effort to send the series back to the Staples Center for a Game 7.
One of those players was Austin Rivers, who finished the night with 21 points, eight assists, six rebounds, and 11 stitches around his eye after taking an elbow from Al-Farouq Aminu.
Portland wound up winning the game 106-103 to advance to the Western Conference semifinals. Afterwards, a number of players on the Trail Blazers, including guard Damian Lillard, approached Rivers to give him respect for his gutsy performance.
Rivers had blood oozing out of his wound at the time as his bandage began falling off.
