Report: LeBron to star in 'Space Jam' sequel
The Looney Tunes are apparently heading back to the hardwood, only this time, they'll have Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James on their side.
Justin Lin, the director of such films as "Fast and Furious 6" and "Star Trek Beyond," is in talks to direct Warner Bros.' sequel to the cult-classic film "Space Jam," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sources tell the site that the film is in the early stages of development, with Lin and Andrew Dodge writing up a script.
James' production company, Spring Hill, announced a partnership with Warner Bros. Entertainment in July.
Even though a script may be in the works, ESPN's Brian Windhorst reports that a deal has yet to be struck with the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player.
This wouldn't be his first venture as an actor. James had a role in the Amy Schumer comedy "Trainwreck," which was released around the time of the Spring Hill-Warner Bros. deal.
The original "Space Jam" starred Chicago Bulls icon Michael Jordan, and earned $230.4 million worldwide during its run in theaters.
