Report: Joerger moves to top of Kings' coaching wish list

In their search for a new head coach, the Sacramento Kings have their sights set on a new candidate.
Moments after his firing by the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, Dave Joerger ascended to the top of the Kings' head coaching wish list, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.
The Kings have reportedly been pushing hard for permission to speak to Joerger, and his interest in other head coaching vacancies led the Grizzlies' front office to cut ties with him. Joerger recently asked permission to interview for the Kings opening, according to Marc Spears of the Undefeated.
Wojnarowski notes the Kings are planning to move quickly to secure a deal with Joerger, who's likely to land a long-term contract in the $4-million annual range.
The Grizzlies went 147-99 in three years under Joerger and reached the playoffs this season despite having an NBA-record 28 players suit up due to injuries.
Patrick Ewing, Jeff Hornacek, Mark Jackson, and David Blatt are among the list of names linked to the Kings job.
