Report: Curry to get MVP award this week

When it comes to the 2015-16 NBA Most Valuable Player award, it hasn't been a matter of who will win the Maurice Podoloff trophy, but rather when Stephen Curry's second straight victory will be announced.
We may now have that answer, as Curry will receive his second consecutive MVP honor at some point this week, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
Curry, who could become the first unanimous winner in the award's history, has been sidelined by a sprained knee since Game 4 of the Golden State Warriors' first-round series against the Houston Rockets.
The 28-year-old averaged a league-leading 30.1 points per game to go with 6.7 assists, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.1 steals, which tied for the league lead. Curry also recorded the 11th 50-40-90 season in NBA history, shooting 50.4 percent from the field, 45.4 percent from 3-point range, and 90.8 percent from the free-throw line, while posting a Player Efficiency Rating of 31.5.
The Warriors are in Portland for Game 4 of their Western Conference semifinal series on Monday, with Game 5 set for Wednesday at Oracle Arena. Given that a potential Game 6 would see the team back on the road, Tuesday or Wednesday seem like the most logical days for a potential award ceremony for Curry.
