A dark-horse candidate has emerged in the Houston Rockets' coaching search.
Former Rocket and current TNT broadcaster Kenny "The Jet" Smith has drawn the interest of Houston management and is being considered for a head coach interview, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.

Smith spent six seasons with the Rockets in the 1990s, collecting championships in 1994 and 1995. He joined TNT in 1998, serving as a broadcaster for the better part of two decades.
Houston is also reportedly "intrigued" by Texas' Shaka Smart and Kansas' Bill Self. However, the Rockets would prefer to hire a candidate with NBA coaching experience.
