Damian Lillard was unconscious Saturday night, splashing all manner of threes - off the dribble, off the catch, hands in his face, defenders in his jersey, from the furthest reaches of the hinterland - against the Golden State Warriors.
Lillard scored a career playoff high 40 points, hitting eight of his 13 attempts from beyond the arc. His last two came on consecutive possessions. They may have come on the highest degrees of difficulty - both with Klay Thompson ensconcing him like a blanket - and they effectively put Game 3 on ice.
Thanks in large part to Lillard's efforts, the Trail Blazers overcame 72 combined points from Thompson and Draymond Green, and pulled to within 2-1 in their Western Conference semifinal.
