With the Cleveland Cavaliers' 108-89 Game 2 victory Thursday over the Toronto Raptors, Tyronn Lue set an NBA record for most consecutive victories to begin a postseason coaching career.
Lue's 10-0 start this spring with the Cavs surpasses the nine straight wins Pat Riley racked up in his rookie season as coach of the Los Angeles Lakers in 1982.
"It's not easy. It's a lot of work," Lue said despite his team's undefeated run. "It's a lot of preparation, trying to stay ahead of the game, trying to figure out what they're going to do next."
Those Lakers went on to win the NBA championship, with Riley and company only dropping two games - both of them in the NBA Finals against the Philadelphia 76ers.
