Andre Miller strongly considering retirement
Class might be dismissed for "The Professor."
San Antonio Spurs point guard Andre Miller told Marc Spears of the Undefeated that he's strongly considering retirement, but hasn't yet made his final decision.
The 40-year-old Miller, who just wrapped up his 17th season, is the oldest active player in the league, edging out teammate Tim Duncan by a month.
With his starting days behind him, Miller's settled in as a third-string point guard. He provided veteran presence in his last four stops across Washington, Sacramento, Minnesota, and most recently San Antonio, where he tried to chase the ring that's long eluded him.
Once the league's foremost iron man (he played 10 full seasons without missing a game), Miller appeared in just 39 games this season while averaging 3.7 points and 2.2 assists per game.
Should this be the end for Miller, he'll finish his career with 16,278 points, 8,524 assists, and 1,524 steals - the most ever for any player who didn't make an All-Star Game.
