Anti-Trump Republicans approached Cuban about running for president

A group of GOP recruiters, including 2012 presidential nominee Mitt Romney, tried to convince Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to submit a presidential bid in the hopes of keeping Donald Trump out of the White House, according to Philip Rucker and Robert Costa of the Washington Post.
Cuban said his pursuers told him that his "bluster and volume, combined with substance and the ability to connect with voters on a more personal basis," make him a viable candidate.
He ultimately turned them down, citing a lack of time.
"(Trump) could come after me all he wanted, and he knows I would put him in his place," Cuban said. "All that said, again, I don't see it happening. There isn't enough time."
