Biyombo hit with costly flagrant for elbow to Love
The Toronto Raptors had an unfortunate swing go against them in the first quarter of Game 6 against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.
Bismack Biyombo was retroactively hit with a flagrant-1 foul for the seemingly inadvertent elbow above. No foul was initially called on the play, with Biyombo awarded a basket after grabbing an offensive rebound and clearing out Kevin Love. The play was reviewed, however, and when the flagrant was assessed, the basket was negated, while Cleveland got two shots and the ball.
Coming into the game, Biyombo had amassed three flagrant points in the postseason, one shy of the threshold for suspension. Unless this flagrant is rescinded, he'll serve the suspension on the first game of next season.
Given his impending free agency and the Raptors' cap situation, it's likely that will come with another team.
