Isaiah Thomas lobbies for Olympic team spot

With USA Basketball's Rio Olympics entry rapidly thinning at point guard with the withdrawals of Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, and Chris Paul, others want in.
I wish I could get a chance to play on the USA team! Looking at the history of it I've never seen a small guard get selected 2 even try out

The diminutive Isaiah Thomas is more or less correct. In terms of Olympic participation, the only players under 6-foot-1 to represent the U.S. since NBA players became eligible for the Summer Games are Paul, Allen Iverson, and Tim Hardaway. Thomas, listed at 5-foot-9, would easily be the shortest.
The American preliminary roster at point guard is now down to Damian Lillard, John Wall, Kyrie Irving, and Mike Conley.
