Simmons doesn't plan to work out for Sixers
The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly favoring Ben Simmons with the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.
But they won't be able to get an up-close look at the star LSU freshman. Simmons doesn't plan on working out for any team ahead of the draft, Keith Pompey of Philly.com reports.
Despite the pushback, the Sixers remain keen on arranging Simmons a visit to Philadelphia. However, if Simmons continues to rebuke the offer, general manager Bryan Colangelo could travel to Ohio to catch a glimpse of the star prospect.
Simmons is represented by Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group, which is based in Cleveland. The 20-year-old Australian forward has trained there since the conclusion of the collegiate campaign.
Prospects ducking workouts is nothing new.
Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid, and Jahlil Okafor didn't work out for the Sixers but the team drafted them anyway.
