Bulls deal Rose to Knicks as part of 5-player trade
NBA crazy season is upon us.
The Chicago Bulls have traded Derrick Rose to the New York Knicks as part of a deal that sends Jose Calderon, Robin Lopez, and Jerian Grant to the Bulls, Knicks president Phil Jackson announced Wednesday.
New York will also receive Justin Holiday and a 2017 second-round pick.
Rose had been rumored to be on the Knicks' radar for a while, and the deal would end an era in the point guard's hometown of Chicago.

A native of the city's troubled south side, Rose was the No. 1 pick in the 2008 NBA Draft and went on to be named league MVP in 2010-11. However injuries have curbed his output since; the 66 games he played this past season were the most he's suited up for since that MVP campaign.
In receiving a starting-caliber center in Lopez, the deal likely also ends the era of Joakim Noah in the Windy City. Noah is an unrestricted free agent this summer.
