Report: Suns determined to move Bledsoe or Knight, pitched Jazz for Hayward
The Phoenix Suns are apparently looking to bust up their dual-point-guard backcourt.
After a cacophony of trade chatter in the lead-up to Thursday night's NBA draft, the rest of the league has come to believe the Suns are determined to move one of either Eric Bledsoe or Brandon Knight before the start of the 2016-17 season, sources told ESPN's Marc Stein.
They're reportedly eyeing Providence guard Kris Dunn in the draft (they hold the No. 4 overall pick), which would ostensibly render one of those two expendable.
Stein reports that the Suns have already tried to deal Bledsoe to the Utah Jazz, offering up a package of Bledsoe and a lottery pick (likely the No. 13 pick they'll be receiving from the Washington Wizards) in exchange for swingman Gordon Hayward. It appears the Jazz were unmoved.
Bledsoe and Knight both dealt with significant injuries last season, and are coming off surgery - Bledsoe for a torn meniscus, Knight for a sports hernia. Combined, they played just 83 games in 2015-16, as the playoff-hopeful Suns completely collapsed.
