Report: Bazemore meets with Rockets to kick off free agency
Kent Bazemore was expected to eschew recruiting meetings for at least a few days, but the unrestricted free agent is reportedly meeting with the Houston Rockets, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania.
Bazemore is seen as somewhat of an underrated star in this year's free-agent class, although in the current market, that means little, as ESPN's Zach Lowe reports that it could take a starting salary of $19-20 million to secure Bazemore's services.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a breakout season in his first year as a full-time starter, averaging 11.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals while knocking down more than 35 percent of his 3-point attempts with the Atlanta Hawks in 2015-16.
Bazemore is also one of the better perimeter defenders on the market.
