Unless Boston Celtics honcho Danny Ainge - with players Kelly Olynyk and Marcus Smart in tow - just happened to run into Tom Brady in The Hamptons on Saturday, the NFL quarterback was likely part of the team's free-agency pitch to Kevin Durant. Brady's involvement was confirmed by multiple sources to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.
Boston was slated to be Durant's fifth of six meetings in the upscale Long Island vacation region this weekend. The idea of bringing along Brady prompted questions, one of them centered around a lack of star power on the Celtics' roster.
Hopefully New England fans won't be deflated if Durant doesn't choose Beantown.
