The Sacramento Kings have announced they signed free-agent forward Matt Barnes.
It's a two-year, $12-million deal, according to ESPN's Marc Stein, with a player option in the second season.
Barnes spent this past season with the Memphis Grizzlies under head coach Dave Joerger, who was recently hired as the Kings' new bench boss. In 76 games in 2015-16, Barnes averaged 10.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.0 steals on 38.1 percent shooting.
Memphis recently agreed to a max contract with small forward Chandler Parsons, and likely saw Barnes as expendable.
Barnes joins Anthony Tolliver, Garrett Temple, and Arron Afflalo as Sacramento's newest additions.
