Heat re-sign Haslem to reported 1-year deal
The Miami Heat re-signed forward/center Udonis Haslem, the team announced Sunday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it's a one-year contract worth just under $4 million, a source told Ira Winderman of The Sun-Sentinel.
Haslem, the Heat's longest-tenured player, has spent his entire career with the organization after being signed as an undrafted rookie in 2003.
The 36-year-old helped the Heat win their three NBA championships in 2006, 2012, and 2013, and is the franchise's all-time rebounding leader.
"For over a decade, Udonis has embodied what it means to wear the Miami Heat uniform," Heat president Pat Riley said in a statement.
"He has been the pillar and constant of this organization, and is a true champion in every sense of the word. We are thrilled that Udonis is back to help impart his leadership and instill the Heat culture with his new teammates."
Haslem played sparingly last season, and will be expected to contribute in a depth role for the upcoming campaign.
