Pacers sign Aaron Brooks to reported 1-year, $2.5M contract

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

The Indiana Pacers made official their signing of free-agent guard Aaron Brooks on Thursday. The deal is reportedly for one year and $2.5 million, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania.

Brooks spent the past two seasons as a member of the Chicago Bulls. Last year, Brooks averaged 7.1 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.5 rebounds per game.

It's unclear what capacity Brooks would serve in for the Pacers after they acquired Jeff Teague in a three-team trade involving the Atlanta Hawks on July 7.

Brooks will be joining the sixth team of his nine-year career.
