Celtics' James Young: Quiet in Las Vegas
Young averaged 7.5 points and 2.8 rebounds in 20.5 minutes across six summer league games.
Analysis:
While Young was playing in his third summer league, he was still the third-youngest player on the Celtics' roster. As such, the former blue-chip recruit remains an intriguing project, but hasn't made tangible strides since entering the league in 2014-15, having played in just 60 NBA games. The 20-year-old's effort during summer league was reportedly questioned by an assistant coach, which certainly doesn't bode well for his chance of cracking the rotation, let alone the roster, in 2016-17. Given the Celtics' considerable backcourt depth, Young's time to prove his long-term worth to the organization may be running short.
