Lakers' Brandon Ingram: Performs well in summer league debut

Rotowire10 years ago

Ingram averaged 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 27.4 minutes per game in five Las Vegas Summer League contests.

Analysis:

Jitters may have played a role early on in Las Vegas, as Ingram was held to 12-for-38 (31.5%) shooting from the floor until he exploded for 22 points on 9-for-13 shooting in his final game against the Jazz. With Kobe Bryant now in retirement, the No. 2 overall pick is expected to play a large role right away for the Lakers, though he might have to settle for a reserve role initially with Jordan Clarkson and Luol Deng in line to serve as the team's starters on the wing. The 18-year-old is regarded as a sharpshooter from the outside, and his 7-foot-3 wingspan could help him make an immediate impact on the defensive end.
