Varejao reportedly flew to the U.S. to have his back examined Monday. The 33-year-old was one of the carriers of the Olympic torch in Brazil over the weekend.
Varejao recently signed a one-year contract for the veteran's minimum with the Warriors. He played 22 regular-season games and 17 playoff contests for Golden State this past season after being traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers and then waived by the Portland Trail Blazers.
