Pistons' Bullock opens up about murder of transgender sister

A little over two years ago, Reggie Bullock lost his sister in a Baltimore murder. The now-Detroit Pistons forward shed some light on the tragedy Friday in an appearance with Nick Wright on "The Herd."

Mia Henderson was born as Bullock's older brother Kevin.

"He taught me to be myself, to take care of the family, to just be yourself," Bullock said, according to FOX Sports' Andrew Lynch. "He was happy being who he was. He wasn't worried about how others felt about him. And a person that can isolate the whole world out and not care about other people's feelings is a strong person to me."

Bullock said that while locker-room culture can seem intolerant of transgender lifestyles, he isn't.

"Never will I laugh, never will I do any of those types of things about people who go through different ways in life," he said.

The man accused of Henderson's murder is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence on an unrelated drug conviction, and still awaits trial in her death.
