Report: Bosh frustrated with Heat over medical situation
Chris Bosh just wants to play.
However, with about a month until training camp, the Miami Heat still haven't given a definitive answer on whether they'll clear the big man to rejoin them.
Though the 32-year-old reportedly expects to be given the green light, his camp is frustrated with the way Miami has dealt with the situation, sources told Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
The Heat have expressed concerns over his blood clot condition, which prematurely ended each of his last two campaigns, and may be considering a future without him.
Bosh has about $76 million left on his deal over three years, and Miami could take his salary for the final two seasons ($52 million) off the cap if he doesn't see the floor in a regular-season contest before Feb. 9, 2017, Jackson notes.
In order for this to happen, a doctor chosen by both the player and organization must confirm the 11-time All-Star's ailment is either career-ending or puts his life at risk if he keeps playing.
Meanwhile, Bosh has been trying to prove he's still fit to play. He and his wife, Adrienne, have been sharing photos and videos this week of the 6-foot-11 power forward working out and running non-contact basketball drills.
He recorded 19.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 53 games before shutting down in 2015-16.
After losing Dwyane Wade, Luol Deng, and Joe Johnson in free agency, the Heat could use Bosh's talents.
