Report: Nuggets to sign Jarnell Stokes to training camp deal
Jarnell Stokes will have another chance at sticking in the NBA.
The Denver Nuggets are expected to add the big man to their training camp roster, according to Chris Dempsey of The Denver Post.
Stokes is the reigning MVP of the D-League. He averaged 20.6 points and 9.3 rebounds in 28 starts while shooting a league-best 66 percent from the field.
The 6-foot-9 power forward was drafted in 2014 and traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, for whom he suited up in 21 total games. In seven contests split between the Grizzlies and the Miami Heat in 2015-16, the former Tennessee standout averaged a point in 2.6 minutes per outing.
The 22-year-old Stokes will join the likes of Darrell Arthur, Kenneth Faried, Nikola Jokic, Juancho Hernangomez, and Jusuf Nurkic in camp.
