Head coach Jeff Hornacek is tremendously optimistic heading into his first season with the New York Knicks.
Speaking at Friday's media day, Hornacek told reporters that he doesn't see his aging roster as injury-prone, an optimistic forecast given new additions Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah.
"I don't think we're going to have injuries," Hornacek proclaimed.
While every Knicks player is currently healthy, recent history has not been kind to their core players. Rose, Noah, Brandon Jennings, and Carmelo Anthony all had major surgery within the past two years and missed significant time.
Player | Games missed (since 2014) |
---|---|
Carmelo Anthony | 52 |
Derrick Rose | 47 |
Brandon Jennings | 75 |
Joakim Noah | 68 |
If the Knicks manage to stay on the court, New York could see a return to the postseason after a three-year hiatus. But odds are slim, given the track records.
