Ben Simmons claims he's gained 33 pounds since draft

Ben Simmons is growing at an alarming rate.
Simmons, this summer's first overall pick, said Monday at Philadelphia 76ers Media Day that he's clocking in at 250 pounds after weighing 217 at the time of the draft.
As a reference, the Sixers' starting center in Nerlens Noel weighs 227 pounds. The 6-foot-10 Simmons is slated to play point guard, although he might be the biggest player on the court in certain lineups.
It remains to be seen if the added bulk does Simmons much good considering his main advantage is his superlative athleticism. Simmons mostly played on the wing during his freshman year at LSU and relied on a dribble-drive game to create plays for himself and others.
