Wizards' Andrew Nicholson: Compiles double-double in spot start
Nicholson tallied 11 points (4-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 0-2 FT), 12 rebounds, and one steal across 30 minutes in Thursday's 100-79 preseason win over the 76ers.
Analysis:
With Markieff Morris (foot) getting ruled out shortly before tip off, Nicholson was a late entry into the starting five and received a preseason-high minute load. He was able to generate a double-double out of it thanks to some hot three-point shooting, but it's unlikely to lead to expanded court time for Nicholson when the regular season arrives. He's behind Morris, Marcin Gortat, Ian Mahinmi and Jason Smith in the Wizards' rotation of big men, a role that may not allow him to see many minutes in competitive games.
