Grizzlies' Marc Gasol: Expected to be available for opener
Gasol (foot) is expected to be available for the Grizzlies' Oct. 26 season opener against the Timberwolves, Grizzlies.com's Michael Wallace reports.
Analysis:
After injuring his right foot in Saturday's game against the Rockets, there was some concern Gasol may have fractured the same bone in the foot that required season-ending surgery last Friday. However, with Gasol's MRI coming back clean, he was diagnosed with a bruise on a different bone in his foot, and injury that isn't expected to keep him out for long. While he'll sit out Wednesday's preseason finale, both Gasol and the Grizzlies are downplaying the issue, so it's likely he'll resume practicing in full within a few days.
