Vince Carter says it's still 'possible' for him to enter Dunk Contest
Who's ready to see a 39-year-old battle two 21-year-olds?
Former slam dunk champion, and quite possibly the greatest dunker of all-time in Vince Carter, isn't ready to rule out a potential return to the Dunk Contest despite nearing his 40s.
"It's possible," Carter told reporters recently with some slight trepidation. "I don't know if I could win, but I would make it interesting, to say the least."
More than just the shackles of old age, Carter would encounter two vicious dunkers in their prime between Zach LaVine and Aaron Gordon. Those two put on performances in the Dunk Contest this February that rivaled Carter's legendary showing in 2000.
That being said, don't completely rule out Carter's candidacy were he foolish enough to join the battle. Not only would he have a nostalgic crowd behind him, Carter is still quite capable of taking off as evidenced by this windmill jam from training camp.
The point is this: Carter wouldn't be the favorite, but never count out anyone with his legendary resume. He might not be half-man, half-amazing anymore, but there's still something left in the tank for Air Canada.
