Doc Rivers: Paul's thumb injury 'not that serious'
Los Angeles Clippers fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
Head coach Doc Rivers told reporters Sunday that Chris Paul's thumb injury is "not that serious" and it's possible his starting point guard will play in Tuesday's preseason contest against the Sacramento Kings.
"Nothing broke or anything like that, but we'll wait and see," Rivers told reporters.
Paul sustained the injury during practice Saturday, forcing him to miss Monday's game versus the Utah Jazz.
It marks the second hand injury for Paul in the last six months, as the 6-foot-0 guard missed some of the postseason after breaking a bone in his right hand in April.
The 31-year-old is coming off his ninth straight All-Star appearance, averaging 19.5 points, 10 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.1 steals in 74 games last season.
