Hawks' Jack won't be ready for start of regular season

The Atlanta Hawks will be without backup point guard Jarrett Jack for the start of the 2016-17 regular season, head coach Mike Budenholzer told reporters on Tuesday.

Jack underwent surgery on his right knee after being diagnosed with a torn ACL and small medial meniscus tear back in January. His recovery has taken longer than expected, with Budenholzer adding that a timetable has not been set for the 32-year-old's return.

Jack agreed to a one-year contract with the franchise over the summer worth the veteran's minimum, after spending the last two seasons as a member of the Brooklyn Nets.

Jack averaged 12.2 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.4 rebounds over 112 appearances in Brooklyn.

With Jack out, Will Bynum and Malcolm Delaney should see an uptick in minutes, playing behind starter Dennis Schroder.
