The Boston Celtics are shopping third-year guard James Young and second-year swingman R.J. Hunter in hopes of getting a second-round pick, sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.
Young, the 17th overall pick in 2014, has failed to many any kind of impression at the NBA level. He holds career averages of 2.2 points per game across 60 appearances.
Hunter was the 28th pick in 2015, and like Young, he's gotten off to a rough start. Through 36 games in his rookie campaign, Young averaged 2.7 points in 8.8 minutes per game.
The Celtics, or whatever team ends up with Young or Hunter, have until Oct. 31 to pick up the team options on their rookie-scale contracts.
