Pistons' Ish Smith: Struggles in opener
Smith scored six points (3-10 FG, 0-4 3Pt) and added one rebound, seven assists and one steal in 33 minutes during Wednesday's 109-91 loss to the Raptors.
Analysis:
Despite the terrible performance, there is still some good news for Smith. First, though Smith was bad, so was his backup, Beno Udrih. Udrih scored five points (1-5 FG, 3-4 FT) and managed only two assists in 15 minutes. Secondly, all of the point guard minutes were split between Smith and Udrih, as the Pistons didn't try to wedge a shooting guard into the position despite Smith and Udrih's poor play and the fact they were losing by double digits nearly all game.
