Perfect Pairings: 3 tightest teammates in the NBA
Although it's not a measurable statistic, chemistry is an important factor in determining the success of a team.
Some squads get along better than others, and certain guys gravitate toward certain teammates to form friendships and formidable 1-2 punches.
So which matches were made in basketball heaven? Here are the tightest teammates in the NBA:
Kyle Lowry and DeMar Derozan, Toronto Raptors
DeRozan and Lowry are the poster boys for the league's best bromance. The two became teammates four years ago, and have slowly but surely grown up together.
From Lowry being traded to the Raptors for a draft pick over concerns about his character, and management being criticized for signing the unproven DeRozan to too lucrative an extension, they've worked together to form one of basketball's best backcourts.
Their bond culminated last season when they both made the All-Star team while hosting the festivities, led their club to a franchise-high 56 victories and came two wins shy of reaching The Finals, and earned a spot on Team USA and captured gold in the Rio Olympics.
The two are as tight as it gets, supporting one another and enjoying each other's company both on and off the court, where their antics include dancing, video-bombing, making fun of other players, and stunt-driving. Even their children are best friends.
Kyle and DBo's relationship is a source of jealousy for other guys, including their Olympic teammate Kevin Durant.
Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, Portland Trail Blazers
In what was supposed to be a rebuilding year, having lost four of five starters, the Trail Blazers defied all odds to win 44 games in 2015-16 and reach the second round of the postseason.
A catalyst for that success was McCollum joining the lone remaining starter, Lillard, in the backcourt and having a breakout campaign that saw him earn Most Improved Player honors.
Now in their fourth season together, Portland's elite scoring combo continue to excel in attacking defenses and creating opportunities for themselves and their teammates. In addition to their games complementing each other, the explosive guards support each other off the court.
While they're not next-door neighbors, Lillard sent McCollum a heartfelt message on his birthday, referring to him as his "brother." On Dame D.O.L.L.A's birthday, McCollum joined him onstage during his rap concert. The two also bond over doing good deeds together.
"I'm not sure there are too many teammates in basketball who are made for each other like we are," Lillard told NBA.com's Shaun Powell.
Steven Adams and Enes Kanter, Oklahoma City Thunder
On the court, Oklahoma City's bigs pose different problems for opponents, with Adams banging almost exclusively down low while Kanter shows a bit more range.
Off the court, the "Stache Brothers" know how to have a good time. They go on adventures together, doing everything from posing for caricatures and going down bouncy slides to reading to kids and embarrassing themselves in front of Cristiano Ronaldo. Even the cartoon versions of them catch Pokemon together.
Like any good friends, Kanter and Adams poke fun at one another, and also keep each other in check. The "real Thunder Buddies" are really tight teammates and will be for years to come, as they've both committed to OKC on multi-year deals.
