Luke Walton watching World Series: 'How's that feel, Cleveland?'
Anyone associated with the Golden State Warriors has been patiently and painfully waiting for the day they could get some measure of revenge for all of the "3-1 lead" jokes.
It's tough for that revenge to come from anything other than the Warriors winning another NBA championship, but so long as Cleveland is involved in sports heartbreak, The Bay Area will take it.
As head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, Luke Walton may no longer represent The Bay Area, but he still carries the same thirst for revenge.
During Walton's postgame media conference Wednesday, the former Warriors assistant saw that the Indians were trailing the Chicago Cubs in Game 7 of the World Series - after Cleveland jumped out to a 3-1 series lead - and had just one question, as reported by ESPN's Baxter Holmes.
"How's that feel, Cleveland?"
The obvious joke to be made, of course, is that given his connection to the 2016 Warriors, Walton should know not to get too far ahead of himself. Game 7 was still in progress when he made the comment, and though Cleveland eventually lost, the Indians did rally from 6-1 down to force extra innings.
