Raptors players tease dual citizenship during election coverage
There are still plenty of polls to report and projections to be made in the race for the White House, but with Donald Trump making shocking gains in key battleground states, at least a couple Toronto Raptors players are happy to be working in Canada right now.
Patterson, who hails from Washington, D.C., and played collegiate ball at Kentucky, has played for Toronto since a 2013 trade from Sacramento. If he remains a Raptor for a while longer, Patterson could make good on his tweet.
Patterson's love of Toronto is nothing new, as anyone who recalls his April Players Tribune op-ed can attest:
When I walk out of the tunnel at a Raptors game, of course I see white people, but they're right next to Asians and Africans and Pacific Islanders and many other people from all around the world. And all of them are wearing the same jersey, cheering for the same team.
It's a beautiful thing to see, man.
As a city and as a team, our diversity is one of our greatest strengths.
Powell, a 2015 second-round pick, is in his second season with the Raptors, as is Delon Wright.
