Former Oregon basketball player Greg Ballard has passed away at the age of 61 after a four-year battle with prostate cancer.

Ballard played four years for the Ducks in the 1970's and left as the all-time leader in rebounding with 1,114, which still stands today. The forward was named First Team All-Pac-8 in 1976 and a consensus All-American in 1977.

He was a first-round draft pick by the Washington Bullets in 1977 and was part of the team's 1978 NBA Championship squad.

Ballard finished his career with the Seattle SuperSonics in 1989 and went into coaching after his playing career.

He is a member of both the University of Oregon Hall of Fame and the state of Oregon Hall of Fame.
