Westbrook hit with tech after accidentally kicking KCP's groin
Russell Westbrook was hit with a technical foul for this seemingly accidental back-heel to the groin of Detroit Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on Monday night.
Westbrook's Oklahoma City Thunder were on the wrong end of a couple vicious nut shots in last season's playoffs, but it was he who bore the brunt of the NBA's new "Draymond Green Rule" - instituted this season in large part due to said nut shots inflicted on said Thunder by the rule's eponymous player.
The rule is aimed to crack down on flailing-limb moves that leave defenders vulnerable to low blows like these. It's not really fair to Westbrook, who couldn't have anticipated that Caldwell-Pope was right behind him, but safe to say KCP still got the worse end of this trade-off. Ouch.
