Free rein: Josh Smith attempts 18 treys, scores 41 points in China debut

Now that's how you make a good first impression.

Josh Smith made his debut for the Sichuan Blue Whales of the Chinese Basketball Association on Wednesday night and let it fly, to say the least.

He attempted a whopping 18 threes, finishing with 41 points on 14-of-27 shooting from the field and 7-of-18 from beyond the arc. Although he didn't pass much (he recorded one dime), he did other things, chipping in 19 rebounds and five blocks.

But it was all for naught, as J-Smoove's club fell 100-93 to Yi Jianlian and Carlos Boozer's Guangdong Southern Tigers.
